High quality data are critical to understanding the rapidly changing retirement landscape. The Center relies on established nationally representative datasets to conduct much of its research. In addition, we sponsor our own surveys to examine unexplored areas. And we make our data widely available to researchers, policymakers, and the public.

Data on the Form 5500 Annual Reports

The 5500-CRR database provides detailed pension plan information from Form 5500 filings. These data are compiled from the raw data available from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). The resulting database is user-friendly and available online for research purposes. The 5500-CRR database is the sole responsibility of the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College (CRR) and is in no way endorsed by the DOL.The construction of this database was funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (1R03AG029425).
