Sheila Zedlewski directed the Income and Benefits Policy Center at the Urban Institute for 20 years. Center researchers study the distribution of income and how government policies affect it. The center includes a Retirement Policy Program and numerous social welfare projects focused on poverty, economic mobility, and welfare programs. The center houses the Transfer Income Model (TRIM3) and the Dynamic Simulation of Income Model (DYNASIM3), two of the Institute’s policy models designed to assess the effects of government policies on net incomes in the near and long term, respectively.
Zedlewski earned her B.S. in psychology and mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and her M.P.A in urban affairs and economics from American University.
