Josh Hurwitz joined the Center’s staff as a research associate in 2010 and became a part of the State and Local team in 2011. He has co-authored numerous papers and briefs regarding public sector compensation and the design and funding status of public pension plans. Prior to joining the CRR, he worked as a research assistant for the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary. There he assisted Dr. Julie Agnew with research analyzing retirement savings issues, financial literacy, and the behavioral biases that influence economic decision-making. He has worked at Vanguard’s Center for Retirement Research, as part of a collaboration with the College, where he analyzed 401(k) plan provisions. Josh holds a B.B.A. in finance from the College of William and Mary.
