Background
Courtney Coile is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA. Dr. Coile’s current research focuses on the impact of Social Security and private pensions on the retirement decisions of individuals and couples. Before joining the faculty at Wellesley in July 2000, Dr. Coile was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, where she is now a Faculty Research Fellow. Dr. Coile has taught a summer course at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and worked as a research assistant at the NBER and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She also spent two years as an analyst for the consulting firm of Putnam, Hayes, & Bartlett.
Dr. Coile earned her A.B. from Harvard College and her Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
