Gordon Mermin

Research Associate

Background

Gordon Mermin is a Research Associate at the Urban Institute specializing in retirement and aging. He has written on the potential distributional impacts of Social Security reform options, work impediments at older ages, and the impact of health and employment shocks on the accumulation of retirement savings. Prior to joining the Urban Institute, Mr. Mermin advised Congress on retirement issues as a Senior Analyst at the Government Accountability Office (GAO). He received his MA in economics from the University of Michigan in 1999 and his BA in economics from Stanford University in 1994.
