The CRR Issue in Brief “Why Did Disability Insurance Allowance Rates Rise in the Great Recession?” has been temporarily removed from our website, because the analysis (using sample data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation) shows allowance rates that consistently differ from the Social Security Administration’s more comprehensive administrative data.  We will soon release updated findings that focus on the authors’ major contribution – namely, the change in the composition of applicants during the Great Recession.
