2010 Steven H. Sandell Grant Program
About Steven H. Sandell
The Center for Retirement Research sponsors the Steven H. Sandell Grant Program for scholars in the field of Retirement Income and Disability Insurance Research on an annual basis. The program is funded by the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide opportunities for scholars from all academic disciplines and senior scholars working in a new area to pursue cutting-edge projects on retirement income and disability insurance issues. Priority research areas include:
• Social Security and disability insurance
• Macroeconomic analyses of Social Security
• Wealth and retirement income
• Program interactions
• International research
• Demographic research
Grant Awards
Up to eight grants of $45,000 will be awarded based upon the quality of the applicant's proposal and his or her proposed budget. Applicants are required to complete the research outlined in the proposal within one year of the award. A select group of grant winners will be required to present their work to the Social Security Administration in Washington, D.C. or Baltimore.
Submission Guidelines
The Center is currently accepting proposals for the 2010 Sandell Grant Program. All applications must be received by 5:00pm (EST) on Friday, January 29, 2010.
