The Center for Retirement Research sponsors the Steven H. Sandell Grant Program for Junior Scholars in Retirement Research on an annual basis. The program is funded by the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) to provide opportunities for junior scholars from a wide variety of academic disciplines and senior scholars working in a new area to pursue cutting-edge projects on retirement income issues. Priority research areas include: • Social Security and retirement • Macroeconomic analyses of Social Security • Wealth and retirement income • Program interactions • International research • Demographic research Grant AwardsUp to eight grants of $45,000 will be awarded based upon the proposed budget. Applicants are required to complete the research outlined in the proposal within one year of the award and to present the results to the Social Security Administration in Washington, D.C.
