Gary_EngelhardtGary V. Engelhardt is a professor of economics at Syracuse University and a senior research associate at the Center for Policy Research. Dr. Engelhardt’s specialty is in the economics of household saving, employer-provided pensions, Social Security, and the economics of housing markets. He previously was on the faculty at Dartmouth College, and has been a visiting professor at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Center for Economic Research at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Dr. Engelhardt earned his B.A. in economics from Carleton College and his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
