This project will study the characteristics and employment-related experiences of DI and SSI beneficiaries in the National Beneficiary Survey (NBS) “successful worker” samples. Successful workers are those who had their benefits suspended because of earnings or worked above the substantial gainful activity (SGA) level for at least three consecutive months during the six months before the NBS interview. The findings will inform SSA’s understanding of why some initially successful work attempts succeed while others fail.
